Eastern Hills was built in the mid 1950s on a hilly plot of land that now overlooks the southwest shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. Designed by Plummer, who built some of Texas’ finest courses, the layout is short by today’s standards but quite the challenge because of elevation changes and bent grass greens that roll true and fast.
As host of the Texas Women’s Open for the past 11 years, Eastern Hills has been recognized as a top layout that is tough but fair. Unlike its more modern peers, the course does not have long forced carries from the tee or tricked up green complexes replete with railroad ties. It is all right in front of you with scoring opportunities for the player who plans and executes according to the shape of the hole.
In addition to golf, Eastern Hills is a full-service private club with a junior Olympic swimming pool, a fitness center and tennis courts. The clubhouse features fine dining for members and guests with specialty buffets every week. Every Sunday, the club features a a spectacular brunch buffet.
Eastern Hills has been a most desired wedding and special event venue selection that can accommodate outdoor and indoor wedding ceremonies and receptions. All banquet rooms are surrounded by windows that overlook the scenic golf course.
